HOW IT WORKS

The process

Healing isn't linear but having a sense of the terrain can help. Here's how our work together tends to unfold.

1. Getting to Know You

We begin with a thorough intake your history, your experiences, your relationships, and what you're hoping for from therapy. This isn't a checklist; it's a conversation. Attachment patterns often emerge here how you've learned to connect, protect yourself, or reach for others and that understanding shapes everything about how we work together.

2. Working with Body, Mind, and Relationship

As patterns and experiences surface, we draw on somatic tools, guided imagery, EMDR, and attachment-informed relational work to support healing at both psychological and physiological levels. The therapeutic relationship itself becomes a space for repair a place to experience what safe, attuned connection can feel like, often for the first time.

3. Integration Through Mindfulness and Movement

Throughout the work, mindfulness practices and somatic movement help anchor new insights in lived experience. These aren't optional extras they're woven into how we work. Present-moment awareness, embodiment, and nervous system regulation build the foundation for lasting change.

4. Exploring What Was Inherited

Sometimes the weight we carry belongs to those who came before us. When family patterns, inherited beliefs, or generational experiences shape current struggles, we explore them through EMDR, somatic work, and guided imagery to help you reclaim what's yours and release what isn't.

5. Finding Your Ground

Therapy concludes when you feel more rooted in yourself less pulled into old wounds, more able to navigate relationships and life's challenges with clarity, agency, and self-trust. The goal isn't to become someone new. It's to return to who you already are, with more room to breathe.

TOGETHER

Workshops & Groups

Healing doesn't only happen one-on-one. Groups and workshops offer something individual therapy can't the lived experience of being witnessed, and of witnessing others. Research in neuroplasticity highlights the profound impact of social connection on brain health, and our group offerings are built on that foundation.

BODY BASED HEALING

Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga, TCTSY

Experiences of psychological trauma profoundly change our relationship with our body. TCTSY works by restoring a felt sense of safety through an embodied, collaborative approach to healing that utilizes yoga forms and the power of authenticity and presence.

The TCTSY methodology is based on central components of hatha yoga. Elements of standard yoga are modified to maximize experiences of empowerment and to cultivate a more positive relationship to one's body.

The TCTSY approach engages participants and practitioners in a shared experience of choice-making and body-centered self-awareness. Over time, sensations noticed in the body may become useful resources for making choices in daily life.

  • Interoception - noticing sensations from within

  • Present-moment awareness

  • Non-performance movement

  • Personal pacing and choice

No hands-on adjustments. No corrections. The goal is experience, not achievement.

OUR DIFFERENCE

What Make This Practice Unique

Many therapy practices are trauma-informed. Fewer make choice the central clinical intervention not just a value, but a method.

“Your experience is your guide. You decide what feels right.”
